Like all true classics, Red Wings stay relevant as fashions come and go, regardless of trouser-widths, collar-thicknesses, jacket trends and all the rest of it. Jack Nicholson famously wore a pair of brown Moc Toes in the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, accompanied by faded blue 501s, a chambray shirt, a dark-brown flight jacket and a black watch cap. Being built to last, all kinds of people now seek out and invest in a pair (or three) of Red Wings – because everyone needs at least one pair of casual, lived-in boots, right?! They go with everything from jeans to chinos to fatigue pants. Today, they’re worn by more than just tradesmen. Still made to this day in the USA, Red Wing’s unmistakable boots have proved enduringly popular with factory workers, miners, loggers and just about any trade you can think of. This look is perfect for those who want to add ruggedness and masculinity to their outfit. Buy wholesale red wing boots that are durable and comfortable to wear. Another great way to wear your Red Wings is with a pair of overalls. My only possible concern about this boot is how the Gore-Tex lining will affect resoling the boot. Simply pair a dress with your boots, and you’re good to go. I don’t bother to find out but just wanted to pass along, the leather is labeled as waterproof. It may be one of those silicone-embedded leathers you would see on a Nick’s Waterworks boot for example. The leather is labeled as waterproof in itself, which I found interesting. If you wear Thorogood’s, this should be a similar break-in. It does have the Texon/Poron footbed, so more similar to a Thorogood construction. This boot is part of their Made in USA Heritage collection.
